June 2011

Tom have been living in our motor home since the end of January. This has been the most interesting adventure. A very long time dream finally coming true.

We started out thinking we knew a few things, but a motor home is a VERY complicated machine. One of the first things we learned was how to keep everything from freezing. San Antonio had a cold month of February, several nights in the teens.

Well, Spring came to San Antonio. We remained at the RV park and got use to living in the RV. We did make a trip, about 300 miles, to Del Rio to visit family. The driving was a little scary at first, but we made it. Eirik, Aarin, and the babies, Caden and Addy, went with us.

We made another trip. This was a shorter trip, but across San Antonio on 1604 to I35 and up to New Braunfels. I got 643 new gray hairs on this trip.

Camping World put the tow package on the RV and car. While we were there we had them look at the battery on - off switch. We remained in that area for a few days after the work was done. It was strange to have all our worldly stuff with us and sleep in the Camping World parking lot.

Here it is June. We have been making plans to do more traveling. We decided that we would remain where we are for July and August. In September and October we would take off a little and visit some of the favorite state parks that we had camped at in the past.
