Day Trip to Fredricksburg

Here are a few pictures of the rally. I need to work on my photo skills, but that will be fun.

Yesterday Tom and I spent the day relaxing. After the rally we were TIRED.  We did get rested up and decided to take a trip to Fredricksburg today to explore. We drove out Highway 16 from Kerrville. We passed the house I lived in growing up. It is on top of a hill a few miles outside of town. We had been there before and had discovered it was NOTHING like it was when my parents owned it. Funny thing... well, that was a few years ago. Actually the house was for sale. If we were looking for a house (and we are not) that would be a great location.

We drove down the main street in Fredricksburg and decided we wanted to eat at the

We had not eaten there before. As we walked in we saw the most beautiful pictures of Germany.

We had a salad, German potato soup and a Rueben sandwich with German potato salad.
  Yummmmmmm!

We walked down the street and came upon a ol' fashion dime store. It was just like the dime store I remembered in Kerrville as a kid.  I took a few pictures.

The only thing I did not see was "Evening in Paris" perfume.

We finished our day with a visit to the German bakery for some apple strudel.
A perfect way to end our day.

RV-Dreams Rally

Tom and I have been attending the RV-Dreams Rally at the Buckhorn Lake RV Resort in Kerrville,Texas. The rally has been put on by Howard and Linda Payne. We have lived in our RV for awhile, but I think we are really just starting the RV lifestyle. We have learned so much this week and have been motivated to go out more into the traveling world.

We still have reasons we need to stay close to San Antonio, but we will be able to go out with more confidence. It is like Howard Payne said several times. "Go slow and have patience.

Tom and I have been to many conferences and events in the past. We can say the rally Howard and Linda put on has been a 1st class event. Each seminar was done in the most excellent manner. They took care of the details which made everything run so smoothly.

A wonderful surprise has been the many friends we have made in such a short period of time. When people who are interested in this lifestyle get together they have a great deal to talk about. We look forward to running into these new friends sometime on the road.

I am going to try and master blogging.... mainly because I enjoy reading other blogs, even when they don't have exciting things going on every day. I know that blogs really helped us keep our dream of full timing alive for several years.  Although I am not a  great, witty writer, I am going to do it anyway. Maybe in the future our grandkids will look back and see what grandma and grandpa were up to in the year 2012.

I will try and post some pictures of the rally when I get that part of blogging figured out.
